Hello There! On this day of snow-ticipation, I am excited to announce the next winter, leading-us-into-spring, classes. If there is a program that interests you, please pre-register. An email will hold a spot for you. Please note the payment deadline for each class. Thank you!
We need our mittens! Look at the gorgeous heaps of Fiddleheads that we knit here two winters ago. . . .
This year we are going to knit more Fair Isle mittens in worsted weight yarn with a lovely cozy lining. . . . . This program will run over 4 Fridays from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. We will work a braided edge, a beautiful fair isle colourwork design, a thumb gusset for a good fit, and pick up from the outer mitten to knit a soft inner lining. The dates for this program are January 30, February 13, 27 and March 6. The pattern we will work from is David Schulz’s Northman Mittens. Please email for fee and supply information.

Double Knitting techniques and a few small projects. . . . . Double knitted fabric is reversible, double layered fabric, where both layers are knit simultaneously, allowing for a multitude of design possibilities. Techniques addressed in this program will include casting on and casting off options, stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch fabric, colourwork designs, creating tubes and pockets, and more. This program will run over 4 Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. Double knitting techniques will be studied and practiced each week during the first half of each class. We will focus on projects for the second half of each class. We will work a few small but useful projects as we learn the techniques, and also knit Lisa R. Myers’ Trapper Cowl from the Winter 2015 Interweave Knits. The dates for this program are March 28, April 11, 25, and May 9. Please email for fee and supply information. Deadline for payment is March 7.

Thank Goodness It’s Friday Night Knitting and Crocheting . . . . . this bundle will be 4 alternate weeks and is a project-based class to provide instruction and support for you, while you work through something a little challenging. Each class runs for 3 hours from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. The dates for this program are: January 30, February 13 and 27. March 6. Please email for fee information. Deadline for payment is January 12.
