Knit Up a Winter Storm
Join us for our holiday knitting course, Knit Up a Winter Storm!  This 3 week program, beginning December 6, is a wonderful way to make the season bright.  Come along and relax for a few hours each week in a festive environment, complete with holiday music, hot cider and treats–you’ll go home ready to deck the halls.

Week 1:  Mini Socks.  Miniature socks to “hang with care”, worked in the round on double pointed needles.  Never knit a sock?  This is the perfect time to learn on a mini!

Week 2:  Mini Mittens.  Precious little mittens–knit a few and make a garland.  You’ll  learn shaping techniques on these mini’s and be ready to knit full-sized mitts for cozy hands this winter.

Week 3:  Santa.   ‘Twas the night before  Christmas . . .  and Santa was ready!  Knit this little Santa ornament, perfect for your holiday tree or mantle.

Only small amounts of yarn are needed for each project, so we’ll be providing yarn and trimmings.

This program is suitable for knitters with good basic skills and comfort (or desire) to work in the round.  Experience with  sock making not necessary.  You will learn on a small scale in a supportive environment.

Knit Up a Winter Storm with Venessa Bentley

Saturdays, December 5, 12, 19 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm

This three week, 7.5 hour program will be a wonderful way to make the season bright.  Come along and relax for a few hours each week in a friendly environment, complete with festive tunes and hot apple cider, and you will go home ready to deck the halls!  Learn some new skills without a major commitment to a large project.  Only basic skills are required.

Week 1:  tree ornaments – really trees for your tree!  There will be 2 tree ideas available for you to choose from, or do both.  One stuffed, both embroidered or beaded, 4” or 5” in size to hang from the big tree or to tie onto a gift.

Week 2:  Mini stockings or socks.  Two different designs to choose from.  One with a touch of fairisle, the other in 2 colours with contrasting heel and toe.  Both worked in the round on double pointed needles.

Week 3:  Miniature sweaters in 3 designs.  Knit in multiples and hung on a mini clothes line, these make a great garland.

Because only small amounts of yarn are needed, Venessa is prepared to come with yarn and trimmings.

This program is suitable for knitters with good basic skills and comfort (or desire) to work in the round.  Experience with fairisle or sock making is not necessary.  You will learn on a small scale, in a supportive environment.  The fee is $70 plus a $20 supply fee.
