Last night I put the brakes on my intense fair isle knitting, for a texture fix. We had a discussion in class the other day about the alluring knits featured in the Outlander Series. I haven’t watched yet, but I had heard about the knits, so began some research. It doesn’t take very long to find Outlander inspired knitting blog posts, and there are some very generous bloggers who also post free patterns.
I had a quick shop through my stash, found one hank of Cascade Magnum, and cast on with 15 mm Addi circulars. I changed things up a bit by working a crocheted provisional cast-on, so that I could graft the ends together when I was finished. A few hours last night, plus a few hours on the picket line this morning, then a few minutes of the kitchener stitch, and a beautiful infinity scarf is ready for the Autumn winds.
It is soft, but loaded with texture and lots of poof! This is the way to go for chilly mornings, or for topping off a jean jacket. What I love the most is that there was zero anguish in planning the project. It was a spontaneous, indulgent knit, done and dusted! Ta dah! I love it!
