I just had to show you this! I have been swatching for the fall fair isle project and love love love how this looks and feels so far. . . .
There is nothing finer than wool that has been spun this way, that is meant to be paired up with a fair isle knitting project. The swatch is worked in the round, knitting a margin of 7 stitches where the steeking will happen. This is what we will be working on in the first class, together. You will have a chance to try out the pattern you have chosen, and make a miniature steeked piece to practice. So if you have never made ‘the cut’ you will have a lot of support to do this. Last night I blocked the sample (on a hand cream bottle) and it is gorgeous. It bloomed as it soaked, very cooperatively. I have measured my gauge, and have already made a good start on the cardigan. I can’t even describe how beautiful it feels to be knitting with such gorgeous wool. I am trying out a Scandinavian yarn that I have not used for fair isle before.
This is an exciting adventure. I do hope that you will join me and share the wonder of knitting a steeked fair isle project together. You can see the schedule here.
Thank you for the wonderful response to the fall programs. I’m so excited to get our groups started up next week!
